ith >25 years experience in the international corporate tax practice, Jaap served a broad portfolio of clients, including large US and European listed corporates, banks, SWFs (Middle-East), large NGO’s, and foreign governments on tax policy matters, including negotiations with the OECD/FHTP. Key areas of expertise are the optimizing of corporate tax structures, the carve out of business lines of large (listed) MNEs, pre and post acquisition reorganizations, setting up of joint ventures, IPOs, M&A, tax policy and strategy, and the adaption to new tax legislation.

Jaap has gained extensive industry expertise in the areas of a.o. High-Tech (equipment, foundry), IT, Renewable Energy, ENR (upstream), Property Development, Financial Services. In recent years, Jaap advised listed and family-owned businesses on how to deal with the introduction of the 15% Global Minimum Tax (OECD/IF Pillar 2).​​

As an advisor, Jaap’s focus is on optimizing and safe-guarding the long-term sustainable tax position of his clients, and on pro-actively responding to the drastically changing international tax environment.
